About
Sandra Muteteri Heremans is a visual artist and filmmaker trained as an art historian. She obtained a Master's degree in Art History, with a thesis focused on art theory and philosophy in early twentieth-century Europe. From this theoretical grounding, her practice gradually shifted toward experimental cinema, leading her to work as a filmmaker of artistic short films. Born in Rwanda and raised largely in Belgium, Sandra's work explores the artistic and political legacies of the twentieth century and how they continue to resonate in today's world. She is currently developing her first medium-length film, to be released and exhibited in 2026.
